New Carlisle man jailed in fatal heroin OD case

A 32-year-old New Carlisle man is in the county jail on charges accusing him of contributing to the fatal heroin OD of a woman in July 2015.

Christopher Wright was arrested late Monday afternoon, hours after a Clark County grand jury returned a four-count indictment formally charging him in the death of 30-year-old Lindsey Marie Allen on July 10, 2015, according to a Clark County Sheriff’s Office statement released tonight.

Wright, of the 300 block of Prentice Drive, is charged on single counts of:

*Involuntary manslaughter

*Reckless homicide

*Corrupting another with drugs

*Drug trafficking (heroin)

All of the charges are felonies. Wright will be arraigned at a later date, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office immediately launched an investigation to the circumstances surrounding Allen’s death after investigators found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the house on North Scott Street where her body was found.

The post-mortem examination concluded that her death was caused by multiple drug intoxication (heroin, Fentanyl and Clonazepam). According to the sheriff’s office, investigators determined through witnesses that Allen obtained the fatal dose of heroin from Wright, who was in the home when she died.
