Officer spots gun after shots-fired call, requests backup

An officer reported he had six people at gunpoint in and around a car, and made a “Signal 99” call for officer in need of assistance after spotting a gun among the group.

When officers asked for the gun, members of the group and neighborhood residents began arguing with officers, a police sergeant told WHIO.

When police searched the car, they found fake drugs. No one in the group was arrested.

However, police told WHIO that a juvenile was taken into custody for an unrelated incident.
