The 25-year-old shooting victim was standing in a parking lot with two acquaintances when she was shot around midnight in the 3100 block of Wexford Place, Dayton police said.
Witnesses told police a person approached the trio and fired a single shot in their direction.

According to online jail records, Eric Randolph Daugherty was taken into custody at the same address police made an earlier arrest.
Daugherty is currently listed in the Montgomery County Jail with pending charges of felonious assault and criminal trespassing.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirms one of the three victims of the overnight shootings has died.
Officials did not know if the deceased victim was from the North Gettysburg Avenue shooting or the Wexford Place shooting.
The identity of the victim was also not yet available, pending notification of family.

Dayton police confirm a person of interest has been taken into custody.
Police made the arrest at an apartment in the area of the shooting near Wexford Place and Ingram Street. Reports indicate the person of interest returned to an apartment and was arrested.
No other information was released.
EARLIER REPORT
Dayton police said the victim of a second nighttime shooting is recovering at a local hospital in serious condition.
Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Wexford Place at midnight Thursday morning on reports of one person shot.
Initial reports indicated the victim was a woman and was shot in the back, but officers did not give any further update on the victim.
Dayton police Sgt. Chad Knedler said the victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is serious condition.
Knedler said it was unknown if this shooting was related to another shooting that occurred less than an hour earlier on North Gettysburg Avenue where two people were found shot.
Other details on what might have led up to the incident were not released and police did not indicate if they had any suspects or made any arrests. Police on scene were were going door-to-door, talking to neighbors.
Homicide detectives were requested to the scene to investigate.
