Police ask for help with case of $3,000 in checks taken from business

The Springboro Police Department appealed today for help in solving a May 3 case involving checks worth more than $3,000 removed from the mailbox of a roofing business on Sharts Road.

Surveillance images indicate that on Wednesday, May 3, at 3:06 a.m., a theft was committed at Snow Roofing, 408 Sharts Road, according to a police statement.

Police say a front-seat passenger exited a Pontiac Montana, walked to the mailbox of the business and removed two checks for a total of $3,015.67. After returning to the car, the suspect is seen opening the mail as the vehicle left the scene.

The vehicle is described as a two-tone Pontiac Montana, unknown on colors, no front license plate, and unknown registration.

The suspect appears to be a male, wearing a sweatshirt covering his face and wearing jeans.

The driver is possibly a female, but there was no clothing description provided.
