He is accused of a double shooting that killed Qua’Lek Shelton, 15, and injured a 16-year-old on Catalpa Drive in February.
“Jackeem Collins shot into a group of juveniles, fatally injuring Q.S.” read a court affidavit. “…The suspect fired from a seated position inside a Saturn Vue SUV. The Saturn Vue then fled the scene.”
Collins reportedly was interviewed by police the day after the shooting, but denied that he was the shooter.

“After a second interview on Feb. 26, 2020, Collins confessed to being the lone shooter,” the affidavit read.
A Dayton police detective also wrote in the affidavit that another person inside the SUV “stated he saw Collins shoot.”
Collins was arrested Feb. 26 and arraigned Friday in Dayton Municipal Court.
