A man who worked as a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested New Year’s Eve at the sheriff’s office and then jailed in Greene County.

Johnson is identified as a new deputy undergoing training Jan. 23, 2018, in a photo accompanying a story published Jan. 31 in the Springfield News-Sun. However, Johnson’s status with the department is not clear.

Clark County Sheriff’s officials Monday would not comment on the case, and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office referred comment to a senior leader not due back to work until Wednesday.

According to jail records, Johnson was arrested at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, 120 N. Fountain Ave., in Springfield, and then booked at 4:48 p.m. at the Xenia jail.

We are working to find out why Johnson was arrested and what charge he faces.
