Grimm and Mathews were identified by the Montgomery County Coroner's office Tuesday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Elmshaven Drive at 7:37 p.m. on a report of shots fired in the area. According to a release, investigators found the pair of shooting victims outside a home upon arrival.
Mathews, a mother, was pronounced dead at the scene while Grimm was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died.
Witnesses at the scene report (Grimm) came to the residence and shot (Mathews)," said Riverside Police Chief Jeff Trego in a release. "(Grimm) then shot himself.
Trego said the two were co-workers at Grimm Properties on Pitchin Road in Springfield. The business specialized in fixing up foreclosed homes.
It's unclear if the pair's relationship went beyond a professional one.
