The Beavercreek Police Department issued a warning after a man posing as a police sergeant has been calling and leaving messages for residents.

The caller identifies himself as a Beavercreek police sergeant and claims to have legal documents. He then leaves a return phone number with a voicemail greeting that also indicates it is from a sergeant.

The real Beavercreek police issued a scam call alert on social media about the calls.

“Please be advised that this is not a Beavercreek Police Department telephone number and the calls are not from a member of the Beavercreek Police Department,” the alert stated.

Anyone who receives one of these calls or who has any information is urged to immediately contact the police communications center at 937-426-1225 and ask to speak to the on-duty supervisor about the call.
