Police said Saturday morning Friend walked to the checkout counter with a soda, but instead of pulling out money to pay for it, she pulled out a utility knife and threatened the clerk.
As the robber walked to the front door with the money in her purse, the clerk told the assistant manager what just happened and the robber started to run, according to the report.
The manager chased after her into the parking lot, and a customer who was getting into her car saw what was happening and called 911, according to the report.
The manager tackled the robber and during the struggle he was cut on two fingers, according to the report.
Police said officers arrived and found the manager holding Friend down in the parking lot, while the customer who helped stood nearby.
The suspect will have an opportunity to deny the charges in court on Tuesday.
