The 17-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of felony tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor assault and menacing.
The 15-year-old pleaded guilty to one count each of felony tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor assault and menacing.
A third defendant, 16-year-old Kylen Jamal Gregory, faces murder charges. Prosecutors are seeking to try him as an adult in the shooting near AlterFest, where authorities said the defendants were involved in ongoing dispute with people in Bowers' car.
The plea agreement will remain sealed “until further court orders in the interest of justice,” said Montgomery County Juvenile Court Judge Anthony Capizzi.
Capizzi said the two pleading guilty will remain in custody pending a probation report. They are scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 27, just days after a hearing to determine whether Gregory will be tried as an adult.
Gregory used a stolen Smith & Wesson to shoot Bowers in the 800 block of Willowdale Avenue near Ackerman Boulevard about 9 p.m. Sept. 4 after groups both of them were with left AlterFest, county Prosecutor Mat Heck said.
Heck has said the two in court Tuesday “did not either know of a gun or expect there to be any gunfire involvement.”
