Troy sex offender pleads guilty to making child porn

A Troy registered sex offender pleaded guilty to enticing at least seven male juveniles to create child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney Southern District of Ohio’s Office.

Brendan J. Eardly, 48, also pleaded guilty to committing a felony as a registered sex offender.

He faces at least 25 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Eardly created multiple accounts on different social media platforms to communicate with more than 60 juveniles around the world and offering them advice about sex, according to court documents.

He reportedly sent some of the juveniles sexual videos of himself as well as videos of other men engaged in sexual activity.

Eardly pleaded guilty Thursday and is scheduled to be sentenced March 16.

As part of a plea agreement, he will give up a computer, cell phones and computer media storage, including 17 CDs, an external hard drive and three thumb drives, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

He’s also been referred to the Forensic Psychiatry Center for Western Ohio for a mental evaluation.

Early was required to register as a sex offender due to a 2004 case in Miami County.

In May 2004, he pleaded guilty to pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, according to Miami County Common Pleas Court records.
