Vandalia M.S. student suspended after threat written on toilet paper

The Vandalia Butler City School District also dealt with an unsubstantiated threat today.

Around 12:48 p.m. Friday, a student at Morton Middle School found a threat written on a piece of toilet paper, according to a social media post by the school district.

Students were evacuated and held safely on school buses off campus while a sweep of the building was conducted.

The student who made the threat was identified and has been suspended, with expulsion recommended, according to the district. The student may face criminal charges.

Vandalia police and fire are investigating.

On Thursday, the Centerville police department investigated a threat made on social media that a school employee found. The threat was determined to be unfounded, according to police records.
