Justin Askew is charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, each of which carries a firearm specification that would add 3 years to each sentence if convicted.
Askew was transferred to be tried as an adult.
On Oct. 16, 2018, Miami Twp. police responded to an armed robbery at the T-Mobile store at 2004 Miamisburg-Centerville Road.

Four robbers fled the scene in a vehicle, which crashed off the exit on Interstate 75 at Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton. A sheriff’s deputy reported the suspect vehicle had crashed, and police took three suspects into custody, including Askew.
James R. Jackson IV, 20, and Tamaurie Kinney, 19, both of Dayton, pleaded guilty and were convicted of aggravated robbery and kidnapping. They were sentenced to 7 years in prison on Feb. 14.
Three other suspects that were also in the vehicle fled from the crash, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation of the robbery is ongoing and investigators are working to learn the identity of the others involved in the robbery.
