17 year old indicted for murder in death of teen

Isaiah Coleman, 17, is being charged as an adult in the shooting death of his friend Devonta Rayford in June.

Coleman was indicted on a charge of murder by a Montgomery County Grand Jury Wednesday.

He is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Rayford while he sat in his car overlooking a Trotwood neighborhood on June 13.

When Rayford was shot, his vehicle rolled down a hill into a yard on Filburn Lane where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Rayford, a student at Stivers School for the Arts, and Coleman had become acquainted at a local church. They met up for an unknown reason before the shooting occurred.
