The bridge abutments on the banks of the river and all three piers in the water have been completed, according to the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office, which is managing the $8.8 million project.
The next step is the placing of 36 beams across the pier spans in October. The beam work is expected to take about eight days. The project is expected to be completed in September 2019.

With the opening of the Webster Street Bridge in November 2017, Dayton has finished the 10th of 11 bridge replacement projects.
The project’s origins started in 1999, when the city recognized many of its bridges were close to 75 years old and needed replacement. The first to finish was the Findlay Street Bridge over the Mad River, which opened in May 2006.
