Alyssa Irwin-DeBraux will have a court-appointed attorney after being indicted on grand theft following the Sept. 11 chase on Ohio 741 in which a Moraine police officer 's cruiser collided with a car driven by an uninvolved Lebanon woman who later died.
The defendant's next court date is Oct. 15.
She has been in jail since Sept. 11.
INITIAL REPORT
The first court appearance is set Thursday for a Dayton woman indicted for a vehicle theft that launched a high-speed Moraine police chase resulting in a fatal crash that killed an area realtor.
Alyssa Irwin-Debraux, 18, has been indicted on a grand theft charge stemming from the Sept. 11 events, including the Ohio 741 chase by Moraine police officer Matt Barrie. During the chase, Barrie collided in Miami Twp. with a car driven by Mary Taulbee, an uninvolved driver from Lebanon who later died.
Irwin-Debraux, who was indicted on Monday, has been in the Montgomery County Jail since Sept. 11, when she was booked on suspicion of grand theft after the fatal collision during the southbound chase that records show reached speeds of 80 miles per hour.

Irwin-Debraux lives in an apartment complex in Dayton, according to Moraine police records. Court records indicate she is “at large.”
Taulbee — a 57-year-old Lebanon realtor who worked in Dayton, Englewood, Miamisburg, Springboro and Washington Twp. — initially was involved in a collision with another northbound vehicle drive by Brandon Miller of Centerville.
That crash propelled Taulbee’s car into the southbound lane, where it collided with the Moraine police cruiser, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Irwin-Debraux was taken into custody after flipping a stolen Jeep near the Dayton Mall and attempting to flee police, authorities said.
The Jeep had been reported stolen about 6:10 p.m. that day by a Harrison Twp. owner who said she had tracked the vehicle by GPS to Ohio 741 in Moraine, records show.
That information was relayed from Montgomery County regional dispatch to Moraine police. By 6:15 p.m., Barrie said he spotted a Jeep matching the stolen vehicle’s description on Ohio 741, according to police documents.
Records show Barrie sought to conduct a traffic stop on the Jeep before it ran a red light at Jomar Avenue and he received permission to chase the vehicle.
