EPA Continues To Test Camden Water

Officials with the village of Camden said the Ohio EPA has spent the past four days testing several areas of the village to determine what has caused the high levels of sodium in the water.

The EPA said no bacteria has been found in the water and that it is safe to drink. However, they advise anyone with health issues to purchase bottled water.

The village is working with the EPA to remedy the situation as soon as possible. They also want to notify residents of the results as soon as possible. If officials determine that the water is unsafe to drink, then residents will be informed.

Officials said the village is giving out free drinking water to residents only beginning on Thursday, Aug. 5 from the mayor’s office. They can pick up one gallon of water a day for free.

However, homes with children can get two gallons of water a day, and the mayor of Camden said a lot of residents are taking advantage of the offer.

No boil water advisory has been issued.
