Maj. Gen. Thomas C. Seamands will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Seamands graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in management from UD.
UD’s ROTC program, known as the Fighting Flyers, is one of the oldest continually operating programs in the country, according to the university. It was started shortly after the modern Army ROTC program was created by the National Defense Act of 1916.
The Fighting Flyers program averages 80 cadets annually and women typically make up around 20 percent, according to the university.
