Former Ohio Governor John Kasich will be paid $60,000 to give a speech at University of Florida on Wednesday, a student newspaper is reporting.

Kasich is slated to speak about his life and leadership and take audience questions for 30 minutes, according to the Independent Florida Alligator. Students can get free tickets but Kasich's speaking fee is paid out of student fees, the paper said.

Kasich, who left office earlier this month, is now represented by a Los Angeles-based talent agency and is a CNN contributor.

He is no stranger to college campuses. After leaving Congress in 2000, Kasich landed a $50,000-a-year gig as a fellow at Ohio State University. The fellowship appointment also paid Kasich’s long-time political aide Don Thibaut $20,000-a-year.

Otterbein University, which is in Kasich’s hometown of Westerville, this month announced Kasich’s appointment as a senior fellow. Kasich will not be paid by the private university, though he will have an office on campus and may serve as a guest lecturer, an Otterbein University spokeswoman said.
