Most of the women who have appeared in the magazine hailed from the Cleveland area but at least four women from the Dayton area have posed for Playboy as has one from Columbus and Cincinnati, according to HubPages.
Jean Jani was the first woman from Dayton to pose for Playboy, appearing in the magazine’s July 1957 issue. She was also featured on the cover of the January 1958 issue as well a “Playmates Revisited” article in the May 1964 issue, according to HubPages.
In 1982, Springfield police officer Barbara Schantz became the second area woman to appear in Playboy. Her appearance in the May 1982 issue sparked some controversy in Springfield, according to an Associated Press report at the time.
Kathy Showers from Brookville was the third woman from the Dayton area to appear in Playboy. She was featured on the cover of the August 1985 issue and was named “Playmate of the Year” in 1986.

Tina Bockrath was the fourth woman from the Dayton area, hailing from Huber Heights. She appeared in the May 1990 issue and has also appeared in a movie and TV series, according to HubPages.
Crista Nicole from Springfield was the fifth woman from the Dayton area to appear in Playboy. She was featured in the May 2001 issue, making her the most recent area model to appear in the magazine.
Stephanie Heinrich of Cincinnati appeared in the magazine’s October 2001 issue while Columbus’s playmate was Heidi Mark, who posed for the July 1995 issue, according to HubPages.
