This Election Day, Uber, Lyft and the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority have announced discounted and free transportation for voters.

The GDRTA announced that today, it will provide free rides system-wide to ensure access for all to exercise their right to vote. This includes both the RTA’s fixed-route and paratransit services.

The RTA added that it has already been providing free rides for early voting in partnership with the Dayton Unit NAACP, the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area, and East End Community Services.

Meanwhile, both Lyft and Uber are offering reduced rates to use their ride-hailing services to go to polling locations.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley shared on Twitter that Lyft was offering free rides to and from polling places today across the state through a partnership with the NAACP and using the code NAACPVOTE2020.

Otherwise, Lyft said it is offering 50% off its rides on Election Day, totaling up to $10 when traveling to any police location or mail-in dropbox in the country using the code 2020VOTE.

Meanwhile Uber announced that it added a poll-finding feature on its app, and is offering 50% off roundtrip rides to and from the polls on Election Day, with a discount of up to $7 each trip.
