Tying the knot can cost thousands of dollars so finding an affordable place to get hitched can make all the difference.

A new study from personal finance website WalletHub found that the average couple spends more than $35,000 for their big day, part of an overall $76-billion wedding industry.

To help ease the shock of that cost, WalletHub has compiled a list of the least expensive and most convenient wedding destinations. Five Ohio cities made the cut.

WalletHub compared more than 180 cities for the study and compared the cost of venues, hotel availability and the number of event spaces.

Cincinnati took the top spot in Ohio, coming in at No. 19. Columbus came in second place in Ohio, nabbing the No. 41 ranking overall, according to WalletHub.

The city of Orlando, Florida took the overall No. 1 spot while Las Vegas, Nevada came in at No. 2, the study shows.
