Construction is expected to start this winter, said ALDI’s Springfield Division Vice President Sarah Brown, who could not give any other details about the project.
The store also shut down for two months in 2015 for a complete makeover, including the interior, refrigeration systems and enlarging the sales floor.
ALDI announced plans in June 2017 to spend $1.6 billion to remodel 1,300 stores by 2020 and $3.4 billion to expand store count to more than 2500 by the end 2022. The growth plan is expected to add 25,000 jobs nationwide, according to an store release.
There are 13 ALDI stores in the Dayton area. This news organization has contacted the city of Huber Heights for comment about the expansion.
