Here’s when local stores will be open for last-minute holiday shoppers

Local stores are making last-minute shopping more convenient with extended hours leading up to Christmas.

Just 11 days from Christmas and some Dayton-area shoppers still need gifts. Here’s a list of stores and hours as the holiday approaches:

Kohl's: Area Kohl's stores will open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. through Dec. 21. After Kohl's opens Dec. 21 at 7 a.m., it won't close at all until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. That's 83 straight hours where last-minute shoppers can hit the stores.

Old Navy: Starting Saturday Old Navy will begin special store hours. Saturday and Sunday the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. It will also open extended hours on Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Dec. 22 and Dec. 23 from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Walmart: Most Walmart stores are always open 24 hours a day. Stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day.

Target: Target stores have varying hours leading up to the holiday but will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve. Select Target stores will be on on Christmas Day.

Meijer: Most Meijer stores will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

JCPenney: JCPenney stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, as well as extended hours leading up to the holiday. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and Sunday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
