Chance of rain, strong storms tonight

There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms, with some potentially strong, through early Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Overnight temperatures will fall to around 73 degrees.

In the morning Wednesday, chances of rain and storms will continue to rise,. Rain likely will start in the early afternoon. Rain chances continue until dusk,, after which the chance will lessen but remain possible through the night.

Temperatures Wednesday will rise to around 89 degrees again during the day, with low temperatures of around 71 degrees overnight.

Rain chances will continue through the day on Thursday as well, the NWS said. Rain chances will slowly rise as the day goes on, peaking at around 5 p.m. before trailing off around nightfall. Temperatures during the day will stay around the same level as the prior two days, with a high of around 89 degrees.

Thursday night will be quieter, with rain chances staying low for most of the night before a slight rise before dawn on Friday. Temperatures will fall slightly farther, with a low of around 68 degrees.
