Jury Reaches Verdicts In Robert Jones Trial

A Springfield man was found not guilty of aggravated murder, but was convicted on eight other charges.

On Tuesday, a Clark County jury reached verdicts in the trial of 30-year-old Robert Jones. He was on trial for the 2003 shooting death of his former girlfriend’s father, Robert Hall.

Defense attorneys did not dispute that Jones pulled the trigger, but said he never intended to kill Hall when he shot through the front door of a home on South Center Street.

Jones was found guilty of felonious assault, tampering with evidence and aggravated burglary. He will be sentenced next month.
