INITIAL REPORT:
The Miami Township Police Department is investigating a former co-owner of a gravestone business after customer complaints of possible fraud, according to the township.
Police said they are looking into a former partner in American Memorial Monuments, 8929 Kingsridge Drive, after several customers filed complaints about never receiving headstones they paid for in advance.

The person in question no longer works for “the company and current owners are helping to identify any victims of this fraud and assist them with orders they have placed,” according to the police department.
Police plan to hold a news conference today on the investigation.
No charges have been filed in this case, but the police department continues to search for any customers of American Memorial Monuments who made a purchase over the past two years — many of which were cash transactions in which the orders were never received, according to the township.
