The Washington Twp. restaurant has no connection to Tokyo Japanese Grill & Sushi, located at 4431 Feedwire Road in the Sugarcreek Crossing center across from Cornerstone of Centerville, owners of both restaurants said.

Huong said the new Tokyo Grill & Sushi will seat about 90 and will employ about eight. The menu will include several items prepared on a Hibachi grill as well as a variety of sushi rolls, the restaurant’s owner said.

The former Rue Dumaine, at 1061 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Twp., shut down permanently in July 2017 after a decade-long run. The restaurant changed its name to Bar Dumaine shortly before shutting down.

In 2008, the James Beard Foundation named Rue Dumaine a semifinalist for the foundation’s “Best New Restaurant” in the nation. And for six consecutive years from 2011 through 2016, the Beard foundation named Chef and co-owner Anne Kearney a semifinalist for its “Best Chefs in America” competition for the Great Lakes region. Kearney remains the only Dayton-area chef named on that list.

Kearney is now executive chef of Oak & Ola restaurant, which opened just last month in Tampa, Florida.
