UPDATE: New restaurant at The Greene applied for beer license the day before it opened

Pho District focuses on Vietnamese specialties in space next to Cold Stone Creamery

The Dayton area’s newest Asian restaurant submitted an application for a license to serve beer on the day before it opened, according to online records on the Ohio Division of Liquor Control’s web site.

The “D1” license that the restaurant applied for would allow it to serve beer for on-site consumption or in original sealed containers for carry out.

We reached out to Pho District owner Hoang Van Nguyen Friday about the license application and will update this story with any new information.

The Dayton area’s newest Asian restaurant opens today, Wednesday Oct. 3, at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek, and it will give away free food to the first 50 customers this morning as well as 30 percent off all day.

Pho District is located at 4474 Glengarry Drive, next to Cold Stone Creamery, in a nearly 2,000-square-foot space that previously housed Ranch One.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Pho District owner Hoang Van Nguyen told this news outlet earlier this year that the restaurant will serve the signature Vietnamese soup Pho (pronounced “Fuh”) along with Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwiches as well as Vietnamese-style smoothies. He plans on adding more locations in the Dayton region in the future.

Steve Willshaw, general manger of The Greene, said earlier this year that the Vietnamese restaurant “is going to slide in nicely to our tenant mix.”
