Members of the military get free admission to Kings Island over the Fourth of July weekend.

The offer is available July 1-4 to active or retired military members who present a valid military identification. Anyone who qualifies for free admission also can purchase discounted tickets for as many as six family members for $34 each.

Kings Island also will celebrate its famous blue ice cream on Sunday, July 1 — proclaiming the day as National Blue Ice Cream Day. The Smurf-inspired treat debuted in 1983, and the park has sold hundreds of blue ice cream cones every day since.

The celebration will include blue ice cream-inspired treats, eating contests and a special blue ice cream photo opportunity.

Then, on July 4, Kings Island will have its annual Independence Day fireworks show. It’s a 20-minute-long display, longer than the usual nightly display.
