Klosterman’s Union Members Strike In Springfield

Employees at Klosterman’s Bakery in Springfield went on strike on Tuesday.

The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Local Union 57 voted on Friday night to issue the strike. Union members said they are striking due to unfair labor practice.

The bakery is located on West Main Street and on Monday, union members picketed outside the bakery.

According to union officials, members said an increase is prescription drug plans and job security were reasons for the strike.

There are about 175 people at the bakery that are members of the union.
