Kroger is looking to fill an estimated 11,000 positions in its supermarkets, including around 2,000 management jobs, the company announced today.

The grocer is encouraging anyone interested to apply online at jobs.kroger.com. Over the last year, the company has created around 100,000 new jobs across the United States, said Tim Massa, Kroger’s vice president of human resources and labor relations.

“In addition to fueling the U.S. economy, many of our supermarket jobs are an opportunity for associates to grow and advance their careers,” Massa said in a prepared statement.

Kroger created around 10,000 new jobs in 2017 and 12,000 in 2016, according to the company.

The hiring announcement comes as the Cincinnati-based grocery chain is investing $500 million in associate wages, training and development over the next three years.

The company has also said it will invest some of its savings from the recent federal tax cuts back into employees. An announcement on those plans is expected to come later this month.

“We are committed to creating great entry-level jobs and investing in our associates so they can reach their full potential,” Massa said.
