The complex will seat about 750 and will be home to Oakwood schools’ field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and track and field starting this spring, as well as a variety of Oakwood community events.
The stadium will also feature an eight-lane running track, lighting for night games and a small grandstand. Football will remain at Mack Hummon Stadium behind the high school. The complex will be named Lane Stadium in honor of major donor and 1963 Oakwood graduate Doug Lane, captain of the 1962 Oakwood football team, and his wife, Gay.
