VANDALIA — The Vandalia-Butler Preschool has received the James Patterson School Library Grant, worth $1,500.

The Patterson Pledge Program, in partnership with Scholastic Reading Club, was launched in 2015 as a part of the ongoing effort to keep books and reading a priority for children throughout the United States.

The money will be used to buy books and create a library.

Vandalia Preschool is one 419 winners of the grant this year, 22 of those grants were made to Ohio schools, and Vandalia-Butler being the only Ohio preschool.
