Martin was honored for his actions on April 5 when he was playing basketball at the school when a fellow student collapsed and was in medical distress.
“It was Jackson’s quick identification of the medical emergency coupled with the caring and compassionate care that Jackson provided made him a hero by any definition,” said Vandalia Fire Captain Chad Garver.
