White on Monday released a statement saying that she was officially in the race and would bring almost 16 years of elected public service, along with extensive experience working as a communications professional, small business owner and community volunteer to the seat if elected.
“In my role as Clerk for Kettering Municipal Court, I’ve used my business background to make services more efficient and accessible for people. I’ve focused on improving customer service, retooling processes and sharpening financial accountability to cut costs,” White said. “I’ve also worked to fight substance abuse, hunger and other issues facing our youth and families. I want to do more to help our region deal with our critical challenges by serving as your State Representative.”

White also included in her announcement the endorsement of former longtime Republican Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer, who is currently serving as state representative of the 40th District.
“Andrea White is the kind of person we need in Columbus. She’s a bridge builder and community leader who knows how to solve problems and get things done,” Plummer stated.
White is a graduate of Centerville High School and Wright State University. She and her husband John, who served in the state legislature from 2001-2008, have been married for over 35 years. They live in Kettering, where they raised their three daughters.
No other Republican has filed to run in the primary.

Democrats Cate Berger and Brian Schneck have both taken out petition to run, but have not formally filed according to information listed with the Montgomery County Board of Elections.
