Candidates went through the PAST test: Physical Abilities & Stamina Test to see if they have the raw physical ability needed to be an AF Special Operations candidate. For the running portion, recruiters are looking for 1.5 miles in lkess than 10 minutes.

The 338th Recruiting Squadron held a PAST (Physical Abilities and Stamina Test) test, on June 14 at the Huber Heights YMCA. This was the first time the event was open to the public. Anyone could try out to see if they had the raw physical ability to become a Special Operations candidate.

According to Staff Sgt. Joshua Bush, combat controller and special operations recruiting liaison for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the 338th Recruiting Squadron, the event was a huge success with about 50 young men and women participating. This was the first public event in Dayton to help raise awareness for Special Ops . The benchmarks for the PAST test included swimming 500 meters in less than 10 minutes, running 1.5 miles in less than 10 minutes, 55 sit-ups, 50 pushups and 10 pull-ups.
