“The tragic circumstances of Wednesday night at 601 West Columbus Avenue has resulted in yet another death,” Standley said on Saturday. “Anthony Scartz passed away last evening (Friday night) at 6:10 p.m. at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio from injuries sustained from being shot multiple times by the three teens in this case. We will assist the Franklin County Coroner’s Office since he passed away there. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Scartz. The Bellefontaine Police Department has worked tirelessly to put the three teens and one adult behind bars for these heinous crimes. Now, we will continue to work with the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office to be sure each of the four are held accountable for their crimes,” Standley said.

Additionally, two adult females were assaulted at the scene, according to a release, and a juvenile that resides in the home was not physically harmed during the incident. The women were not hit in the gunfire, but were treated for their injuries.
The three teens had been to the home before, according to a release. One of them is believed to have known Chamberlin or Scartz. Witnesses told police a “violent encounter led to the discovery of the three’s identities.”
When Barrett was shot several times during the encounter Wednesday, Bush and Grim took him and left him at Mercy Health Urbana. Hospital officials there called Urbana police to report a gunshot wound victim.
The other two boys continued on to Madison County, where they were tracked down at a house by Madison County Sheriff’s deputies based on a tip to Urbana police.
