The crash that involved a car and semitrailer was reported around 3:30 a.m. on northbound I-75 between Fair Road and state Route 47 in Sidney. Neither driver suffered injuries, according to police.

The driver of the car, later identified as Logan Travis, 24, ran from the wreck and then stole the car of a witness who stopped to check on the crash, Sidney police Sgt. Chris Burmeister said.

Travis then allegedly drove the stolen car south on I-75 for about a half-mile before abandoning it and running into a wooded area, according to investigators.
Multiple officers and an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter, searched the area for more than two hours before Travis was found near Campbell Road, just east of the I-75 overpass, Burmeister said.
He was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital for evaluation and then booked into the Shelby County Jail on a preliminary charge of theft of a motor vehicle, Burmeister said.
Official charges for Travis are pending, police said.
Jail records show that Travis is due for arraignment Thursday in Sidney Municipal Court.
The crash shut down the northbound lanes of the highway until the left lane reopened around 6 a.m. The right lane reopened around 7 a.m.
