The Air Force Marathon tops the list of the “15 Best Fall Marathons in the U.S.” in 2018, according to the fitness website Daily Burn.

Daily Burn, which has named the marathon to the list in prior years, cited a mostly flat course through Wright-Patterson, “awesome jet flyovers” to launch the race and “enthusiastic volunteers” lining the course as runners “race past historical aviation sites like the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument.”

The marathon, which started in 1997, has attracted as many as 15,000 runners across the globe to compete in full- and half-marathons, and 10K and 5K contests.

The series of races is set for Sept. 15 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, and the popular 5K race kicks off Sept. 14 at Wright State University.
