The sergeant said he works with many great Airmen volunteers from different career fields throughout the base to help the pharmacy distribute medicine safely. Because of the volunteers, pharmacy customers don’t have to leave the comfort and safety of their car, remaining at a safe distance from others.
“It’s a good distribution method they have created,” said Wendzikowski. “Some days are busier than others, but the line moves quickly. Customers are very appreciative for the serve that we provide.”
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is the sixth duty station for the 15-year Air Force member from Buffalo, New York. He is the drummer as well as the NCO in charge of Flight One with the Band of Flight. He practices his profession on an electronic drum set at home when not volunteering at the pharmacy.
“I’m happy to help out retirees and the base population,” said the sergeant. “Just happy to do what I can.”
“It was no surprise to me that Tech. Sgt. Wendzikowski volunteered to help out the Med Group,” said Chief Keith Erb, chief enlisted manager of the band. “He volunteered for an Air Forces Central Command tasking about a month after arriving on station here. He’s all about getting the mission done.”
“May 1st will be my last day volunteering at the pharmacy,” said Wendzikowski. “I’ll go back to teleworking starting next week. I was happy to volunteer but look forward to joining band members on-line.”
The sergeant is excited about the distance future to be reunited with Flight One members and being in front of a crowd again.
“I look forward to getting back out to the community to perform,” the sergeant added. “It’s what I like to do best.”
