Bond set at $1 million for accused West-Liberty Salem school shooter

The teen accused of shooting another West-Liberty Salem High School student has waved his right to a probable cause hearing during today’s session in Champaign County court.

Prosecutors have filed a motion to transfer Ely Serna’s case to adult court.

The judge will decide whether he is automatically bound over or will have another hearing.

Sirna’s bond was set at $1 million.

The teen accused of shooting another student at West-Liberty Salem High School will be in court today.

Ely Serna is accused of bringing a shotgun to school and shooting Logan Cole, 17, twice on Jan. 20.

Serna will be in the Champaign County court today for a probable cause hearing.

In May, a judge ruled that Serna was competent to stand trial.
