The Menards in Fairborn is one step closer to opening.

The city issued Menards a temporary occupancy to allow for hiring, training and stocking, said Fairborn City spokeswoman Meghan Howard. The store’s address will be 1277 East Dayton Yellow Springs Road, by the Kroger MarketPlace.

A Menards spokesperson said the company is excited, but no date for opening has been set yet.

Plans submitted by Menards propose 173,266 square feet of heated store and 27,657 square feet of garden and shipping floor area, as well as a 46,780-square-foot accessory warehouse building and 415 parking spaces.

Menards could hire about 45 full-time and 80 part-time employees.
