Investigators blocked both directions of South Smithville Road between Burkhardt and Huffman avenues while officers attempted to locate a wanted person Thursday afternoon.

Initial reports indicate some SWAT officers were requested because one person was suspected to have a gun. Investigators said the suspected firearm turned out to be a BB gun.
Two people, only identified as a man and a woman, surrendered and were taken into custody. Investigators said one was wanted for an outstanding warrant and the other a parole violation.
No injuries were reported.
South Smithville Road reopened around 2:15 p.m.
