We got some pretty devastating news this morning. And no, it wasn't that the roads weren't plowed or salted on our way to work.

After just about five months of delivering fresh, delicious fare across downtown Dayton and less than a year of serving out of an old hot dog cart, Bad Dog Nice Taco announced this morning that they would be hanging up the grill tongs after this weekend.

In a post on Facebook, Bad Dog's Brian Johnson and LeeAnne House said they were closing up operations for both the lunchtime delivery service and the food cart due to an inability to secure a lease or a new location for their prep kitchen space. But they did leave a silver lining:

"Though when doors close others open and we can't wait to announce some exciting new projects we are working on both individually and together on in 2016," they wrote.

In the meantime, you can enjoy the Pork Naan Sandwich and the Mac Mac for lunch through Friday Jan. 22, grab an omelette cooked to order at Ghostlight Cafe on Saturday Jan. 23  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and savor the Taco Bar at the Yellow Cab Tavern, 700 E. Fourth St., Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Until we meet again, Bad Dog, you served us so, so well.
