UPDATE @ 12:48 a.m (Dec. 18): Racing fuel that was stored in a barn caused multiple explosions during a massive barn fire in Sugarcreek Twp. late Sunday night.

Crews were dispatched to Sears Road just after 10 p.m. on reports of smoke showing from a structure, according to initial reports.
Officials say that while trying to tend to the smoke, multiple explosions began to occur, which caused them to pull back from the structure for safety reasons.
No one was inside the barn at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported as result of it.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and state fire marshals were called to the scene due to the racing fuel load, as well as to investigate the fire’s origin, according to officials.
Area fire departments that assisted with the fire included Wayne Twp., Washington Twp., Spring Valley and Bellbrook.
Damage estimates remain unknown at this time while the fire is still under investigation.
UPDATE @ 10:37 p.m. (Dec. 17):
Firefighters battling a barn fire on Sears Road in Sugarcreek Twp. reported there may be chemicals being stored inside the building, according to initial reports.
It’s not clear what chemicals might be stored inside the barn, however firefighters are now battling the fire defensively, reports indicated.
Initial reports indicated the EPA was being contacted.
Firefighters have reported some explosions while battling the fire.

A barn fire has been reported tonight on Sears Road in Sugarcreek Twp.
The fire was reported in the 3100 block of Sears shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday.
Initial crews on the scene reported smoke was showing.
