Bars to stop serving alcohol early this weekend due to daylight saving time

Those who want to go to a bar after the Dayton Flyers game Saturday will need to include daylight saving time into their plans.

Ohio liquor establishments will have to stop selling alcohol Sunday before 2 a.m. due to time springing forward, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ohio Investigative Unit.

Establishments that are permitted to sell alcohol until 2:30 a.m. will be impacted because it will be 3 a.m. when we spring ahead. 
When the time springs forward to 3 a.m., it will be 30 minutes past the legal time to serve alcohol.

If you’re headed to a bar after the game against the George Washington Colonials, you won’t be able to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages after 2 a.m.

The No. 3 Dayton Flyers play the George Washington Colonials at the University of Dayton arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
