BEAVERCREEK R&R DIANA BLOWERS
Beavercreek High School should be on a “high energy” alert Jan. 15-16, when it hosts the eighth annual Beavercreek Midwest Show Choir Classic.
Some of the best middle school and high school song and dance groups from across the Midwest will be performing their best shows for the competition.
For the show choirs, it is a competition. For those attending the event, which is open to the public, it will be a continuous musical extravaganza, complete with high-spirited songs, equally high-spirited dance routines and costumes guaranteed to dazzle.
The classic begins at
5:30 p.m. Friday night, Jan. 15, with the middle school competition.
The school district’s two middle school show choirs, Ferguson’s Guys and Dolls directed by Ryan Perrin and Ankeney’s Connection directed by Jason Enneking, will host the middle school competition.
Beavercreek High School’s Friends show choir, directed by Sharon Busch, will host the high school competition, which begins at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 16 and continues throughout the day.
As the host, the Beavercreek choirs will not be competing, however, they will perform in exhibition during the event.
BHS’s Friends will perform at approximately 10 p.m. Jan. 16, just prior to the awards ceremony.
Among about 15 show choirs competing in the high school event, local show choirs performing will include Kettering Fairmont Illusion, Lebanon Singers, Milton Union Center Stage, Ross Rhythm and Motion, Hamilton Rhapsody in Blue, Edgewood Choraliers and the Wapakoneta Singsation.
Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, are $5 for Friday evening, $8 for the Saturday daytime and $8 for Saturday evening. A combo ticket, for Saturday day and evening, is $15.
