Bicyclist sustains serious injuries after being hit by car in Harrison Twp.

A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Harrison Township Monday evening, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 48-year-old man was riding a bicycle east from a parking lot in the 2900 block of Philadelphia Drive.

As the man traveled across Philadelphia Drive, he rode into the path of a 2013 Ford Fusion, which was traveling south on the road and hit him.

A medic took the bicyclist to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. The diver of the Fusion was not injured.

In a release, the sheriff’s office said that Dayton police originally responded to the crash at 9 p.m. Monday night, before discovering that the crash was in Harrison Township and calling the sheriff’s office to handle it.

The release did not say if any arrests were made due to the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
