The date for the class is in the registration; students must register at www.va.gov/womenvet/whtt/ to see the date for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base's class, set for July 28.
‘Rekey’ feature instructions for CACs given here
The 88 FSS ID Card Section has seen an increase in customers because Common Access Cards have become corrupt while attempting to be rekeyed. AFPC has provided some "Lessons Learned" IRT the Rekey Feature to assist members. Most importantly, members should not Rekey while teleworking on VPN. Please refer to the DMDC ID Card Policy webpage www.cac.mil/coronavirus for FAQs and other resources.
The DMDC ID Card Office Online (IDCO) supports the extending the CAC PKI certificate for cardholders effective April 17. The “rekey” feature will work for unexpired CACs with a valid PKI certificate and does not support expired CACs. Furthermore, the CACs must be within 30 days of expiration date.
NOTE: Individuals possessing an expired CAC are required to replace their CAC by visiting the nearest RAPIDS facility for reissuance. Bottom line, there are no alternatives or workarounds to update the PKI certificate on the smart-chip other than the rekey feature or to visit a RAPIDS site in-person.
CAC holders must have the following installed on their PC:
1. Smart card reader with an ActiveClient 7.1 or higher software.
2. JAVA 8 update to 144 or higher software, and the JAVA scripting must be “Enabled.”
3. Internet Explorer (IE) version 7 or higher; do not use Chrome.
The following applications should not be used during the whole process:
1. Virtual Private Network (VPN) for teleworking, or
2. Remote desktop, or
3. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
Shoppers need DoD ID card to enter commissary
In response to COVID-19 and the current health protection condition, the Wright-Patterson commissary is conducting 100% ID checks at the door and only personnel with a valid Department of Defense identification card will be allowed inside the facility.
Visitors inside the commissary are currently not authorized and will be turned away unless they have a valid Department of Defense ID. This includes IDs that are valid as of Jan. 1, 2020.
